The position available is a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage Culinary role at The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients and various types of food in accordance with rigorous quality, presentation, and food safety standards. Responsibilities include portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, measuring, mixing, cooking, and serving food in proper portions. The candidate will expertly operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers while monitoring the quality and temperature of food throughout preparation. Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, tools, and workstations, as well as following safety protocols and reporting any maintenance and safety concerns to management, are essential components of the role. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, as well as lifting objects up to 25 pounds.

  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances safely
  • Ability to stand sit or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Weigh measure and mix ingredients
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards presentation standards and food preparation checklist
  • Operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
  • Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
  • Monitor food quality while preparing food
