Job Description

Sonesta International Hotels stands proudly as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States and continues to expand rapidly. With a dynamic and diverse portfolio of over 1000 properties across eight countries, Sonesta offers an impressive blend of full-service and focused hotels situated in major cities. Our properties include owned, managed, and franchised establishments, which collectively deliver exceptional value and hospitality experiences. At Sonesta, we are driven by a deep commitment to the human side of hospitality. This means we focus not only on quality and service but also on cultivating loyalty and meaningful guest connections. Our mission, expressed through the motto "Together We Thrive," emphasizes providing quality, value, and amazing hospitality to every guest at every stay.

The role we are currently seeking to fill is for a Line Cook III. This position is vital to maintaining the high standards of our culinary offerings. The Line Cook III is responsible for preparing all food items while strictly adhering to cleanliness, sanitation, and quality standards. Beyond executing tasks, this role requires attention to taste, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. The position demands respect for fellow cooks and the overall hotel environment, ensuring a cooperative and efficient kitchen atmosphere. This job operates within a fast-paced environment where flexibility is crucial, including variable shifts, potentially covering days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is also important, as the role involves standing for entire shifts, exerting physical force to handle equipment, and tolerating extreme temperatures such as those encountered in freezers and loading docks.

An essential part of the Line Cook III's responsibilities includes producing food orders promptly and consistently, maintaining the quality and taste of every dish served. This requires operating kitchen equipment safely, handling food items responsibly, and diligent cleaning and sanitizing of work areas. The area of work demands adherence to strict safety and sanitation guidelines and uniform and grooming standards. Education and experience preferences include relevant experience in restaurant or hotel food preparation and a high school diploma or GED. Communication skills—both written and verbal—are necessary alongside excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high performance standards.

Sonesta values its workforce and offers competitive pay, specifically between $21.00 and $25.80 per hour depending on union contracts and experience. In recognition of the importance of employee well-being, we provide a variety of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, holidays and personal floaters, and a 401(k) retirement plan. At Sonesta, equality and diversity are paramount, and all qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status. We encourage candidates to submit complete applications and resumes to be considered for this exciting opportunity to join our internationally recognized hospitality family.
