Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food preparation or cooking
  • Completion of Serv-Safe class
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Physical ability to perform cooking duties including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a food preparation or cook role is advantageous
  • Completion of Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes smoky environment
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a kitchen team

Job Duties

  • Execute all food production as determined by the Sous Chef through production sheets
  • Practice a clean as you go work ethic and utilize proper food handling techniques including wearing plastic gloves and proper uniform
  • Prepare the proper amounts of food as requested by the Sous Chef
  • Conduct self in a highly professional manner at all times
  • Communicate with stewards on all equipment cleaning needs
  • Handle special requests made by the Sous Chef or external guests
  • Maintain Bally’s Casino food quality specifications by following standard recipes and controlling waste
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam, and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
  • Present, garnish, and arrange final dishes
  • Occasionally serve food
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
