The role of Cook II at Texas Health Denton is a dynamic and vital position within the hospital's food service department, designed primarily to support patient care through the preparation and production of high-quality meals. This PRN (as needed) position requires flexibility as it operates on rotating shifts, ensuring continuous service and support in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Cook II is responsible for all areas of food production, including both hot and cold dishes, preparing meals that meet department standards and patient expectations. This position requires a cooperative mindset along with good communication and organizational skills to work effectively with team members and other hospital staff. The employee should be discreet and courteous, exhibiting initiative and independent judgment in the performance of duties while supporting a positive and professional work environment. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors to support the smooth operation of the department.
Texas Health Denton emphasizes employee well-being by offering a range of benefits to its PRN employees, including access to a 401k plan, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and discount programs.
