The Cook position is an integral part of our Nutritional Services team, working under the Food Production Manager's supervision to prepare timely, high-quality meals that satisfy both nutritional and appetizing criteria. This role requires operating standard kitchen equipment efficiently, maintaining sanitary conditions, and complying with hospital policies and procedures. The cook plays a key role in maintaining equipment and work area cleanliness, participating in ongoing educational activities, and utilizing supplies and equipment cost-effectively. Flexibility and a strong commitment to food safety practices are essential in managing heavy workload periods and ensuring patient satisfaction. Our hourly wage for this role ranges from $35.67 to $39.32, reflecting our aim to attract skilled professionals dedicated to quality and service excellence. Job Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED or education in progress and commitment to obtain diploma within one year of hire
- culinary school preferred
- valid California Food Handler Card from an ANSI accredited training provider meeting ASTM International E2659-09 Standard Practice for Certificate Programs
- valid driver’s license
- five years experience in food production
- three years experience as a cook
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED or education in progress and commitment to obtain diploma within one year of hire
- culinary school preferred
- five years experience in food production
- three years experience as a cook
- valid California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days
- valid driver’s license
Job Duties
