Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City is a prestigious luxury hotel located at 1250 S Hayes St, Arlington, Virginia. As a culinary associate at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, you will be part of a vibrant and dynamic team where you will have opportunities for growth and development. The hotel is currently partnering with Rouxbe Cooking School to provide online culinary training programs for associates, allowing individuals at all levels of culinary experience to improve their skills through hundreds of well-designed, visually engaging lessons that have practical applications on the job. This full-time, non-management position requires culinary associates to prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing them appropriately before use. Associates will use kitchen tools, equipment, and appliances safely and correctly to ensure the preparation of baked meals to standard. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area is paramount, adhering to food handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene guidelines.

You will also be responsible for monitoring the temperature of kitchen appliances and food to ensure safety and quality, promptly reporting any issues to management. Additionally, working collaboratively with teammates to maintain high standards of food quality throughout the shift is essential. Physical demands include frequently moving, lifting, and positioning objects up to 25 pounds, and navigating various surfaces and awkward positions comfortably.
