The role available is a Food Preparation position with a clear expectation of contributing to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This is a full-time opportunity offering an hourly wage of $20.00. The position requires flexibility and readiness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The Food Preparation team plays a vital role in the culinary operations by ensuring food items are prepared according to recipe cards and production standards, maintaining sanitary work environments, and supporting the smooth functioning of kitchen activities.

This job involves tasks like preparing food in advance to meet service demands, monitoring portion sizes and quality, managing food storage labeled accurately to comply with safety regulations, and assisting in inventory control to prevent shortages or excess waste. Food Prep associates are responsible for adhering strictly to standards of food safety and hygiene, which include proper refrigeration and rotation of perishable items based on SOP. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to handle lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as well as the capability to work comfortably under varying temperatures, from freezer cold to hot kitchen environments.

Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • minimum one year of relevant food service experience
  • ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
  • ability to stand continuously during shifts
  • ability to work in temperature extremes ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees
  • capability to understand and follow instructions
  • good hearing and vision
  • mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • minimum one year of food service or related work experience
  • knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to production requirements and quality standards
  • maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • prepare food following recipe cards and portion standards per server requests
  • start food items prepared in advance, ensuring appropriate quantities
  • date all food containers and rotate per SOP
  • check pars and determine necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and line setup
  • note out-of-stock items or potential shortages
  • assist with buffet stocking
  • return unused food to designated storage with proper coverage and dating
  • help set up plans to correct food cost problems and control food waste and usage per SOP
