Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary skills in food preparation, presentation, and garnishment
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics with high accuracy
  • Ability to read computerized recipes and modified diet spreadsheets
  • Experience directing the work of others
  • Food handler's permit preferred
  • Three years quantity cooking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of age-specific nutrition requirements preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare superior quality food that meets standards for flavor, texture, appearance, temperature, nutritional value, and palatability
  • Follow correct food handling and sanitary procedures adhering to health regulatory standards
  • Read and interpret computerized recipes and modified diet spreadsheets accurately
  • Direct the work of others in the kitchen
  • Ensure food safety compliance at all times
  • Present and garnish food appealingly
  • Adjust food preparation to meet age-specific nutrition requirements
