The Cook II role at Sodexo located at Colorado School of Mines is a full-time position offering an hourly wage between $22 and $24. This role requires a passionate and skilled culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic food service environment. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of nutritious food items for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. The position demands accuracy, efficiency, and a team-oriented mindset with a focus on reducing food waste and enhancing customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will follow recipes and product directions to ensure consistent food quality and support the daily operations of the kitchen. You might be tasked with cooking food on a grill station, serving customers a la carte, and potentially assisting management with oversight responsibilities. Accountability and punctuality are essential as you attend scheduled shifts reliably and perform additional duties as needed based on business requirements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience preferred
  • ability to work any shift with open availability

  • ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions accurately

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
  • prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
