Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to creating a better everyday experience for individuals and communities across multiple sectors, including food services, facilities management, and integrated solutions. Operating in over 80 countries, Sodexo is committed to improving the quality of life for those it serves, making a positive impact socially, economically, and environmentally. The company values diversity, inclusion, and offers a supportive work environment where employees are respected, their voices heard, and their individuality embraced. Sodexo partners with various establishments, including healthcare facilities, corporate offices, schools, and more, to deliver exceptional service and meaningful experiences to customers and employees alike. Known for its commitment to employee development, Sodexo provides ample training, advancement opportunities, and comprehensive benefits to support the well-being of its workforce.
This position is for a Cook II role located at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin under the Sodexo umbrella. The job is part-time with a fixed pay rate of $19.90 per hour. The shifts vary and include flexible days, hours, and rotating weekends, offering a dynamic scheduling structure suited to those who thrive in varied work environments. The role centers around preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious food to patients, staff, and visitors, with an emphasis on reducing food waste and enhancing customer service. As a Cook II, you will be an essential member of a dedicated kitchen team that ensures meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and attractively across different meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events.
Your responsibilities will include accurately following recipes, portioning, cooking, and presenting a wide range of hot and cold dishes. This hands-on cooking role may involve serving customers at an a la carte station or operating a grill station, showcasing your culinary skills and fostering a welcoming environment. Beyond food preparation, you may be called upon to support management with overseeing key daily kitchen functions and assisting fellow employees as needed. Reliability and punctuality are critical, as consistent attendance and showing up on time contributes greatly to the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Successful candidates for this role are team-oriented and adaptable, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Experience requirements include having three to four years in related cooking or culinary roles, which equips you with the proficiency to meet the demands of a busy healthcare food service environment. Sodexo supports its employees with flexible working conditions so they can balance work and personal commitments effectively. Additionally, there are ongoing training and development opportunities designed to help you turn this part-time position into a long-term, fulfilling career.
Benefits with Sodexo include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, and 401k plans, alongside other discount programs that benefit you and your family. Some locations may provide additional perks such as free shift meals or allowances, uniforms, safety shoes, and support for public transportation or parking, depending on the site. Sodexo’s comprehensive benefits and company culture prioritize employees’ well-being and career growth, creating an inclusive work environment where diversity is celebrated and every team member is empowered to thrive.
