At Renaissance Hotels, the kitchen team plays a critical role in delivering memorable dining experiences by preparing high-quality food items with attention to detail, safety, and presentation. The role of a Cook is fundamental in supporting the culinary operations of the kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking food per set recipes and standards, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. The Cook will be responsible for a wide range of kitchen duties, including preparing ingredients such as portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables. They will weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, as well as prepare and cook food items using various appliances like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Quality control is integral to the daily workflow, ensuring that dishes meet company recipe and presentation standards and are cooked to proper temperatures. The individual will also be responsible for setting up and breaking down workstations, serving food in proper portions and receptacles, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment by washing and disinfecting work areas, tools, and equipment.

Safety and adherence to company policies are paramount. The Cook will need to follow all safety and security procedures, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and report any maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management promptly. Collaboration and communication with team members are also key components of success in this role to support team goals and maintain a positive work environment.

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks, such as standing or moving for long periods, reaching overhead or below the knees, and lifting moderate weights up to 25 pounds without assistance. While no supervisory experience is required, having at least one year of related work experience in a food preparation or cooking role is preferred, along with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Capability to reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
