Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in high volume restaurant or casino kitchen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Gardena City Work permit
  • Must have and maintain California Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to lift minimum 20 lbs safely
  • Must stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to perform multitasking and prioritize work
  • Must comply with all safety and sanitation codes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years line experience in a high volume restaurant and/or casino kitchen
  • Strong knife skills including all basic cuts
  • Ability to prepare a wide variety of cuisines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • ServSafe certified or ability to pass within 9 months

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items according to standardized recipes
  • Ensure lines are set and fully stocked with fresh ingredients for each shift
  • Complete daily side duties in a timely manner and in appropriate quantities
  • Prepare food items at grill/broiler, sauté, fry and pantry stations
  • Perform six basic knife cuts proficiently and within set time limits
  • Prepare daily specials and adjust as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of stations, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation codes and policies
