Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in high volume restaurant or casino kitchen
- Ability to obtain and maintain Gardena City Work permit
- Must have and maintain California Food Handlers Card
- Ability to lift minimum 20 lbs safely
- Must stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to perform multitasking and prioritize work
- Must comply with all safety and sanitation codes
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years line experience in a high volume restaurant and/or casino kitchen
- Strong knife skills including all basic cuts
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of cuisines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and speak English
- ServSafe certified or ability to pass within 9 months
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items according to standardized recipes
- Ensure lines are set and fully stocked with fresh ingredients for each shift
- Complete daily side duties in a timely manner and in appropriate quantities
- Prepare food items at grill/broiler, sauté, fry and pantry stations
- Perform six basic knife cuts proficiently and within set time limits
- Prepare daily specials and adjust as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of stations, refrigerators, and freezers
- Adhere to safety and sanitation codes and policies
