Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2 years restaurant line cook experience
- Good verbal skills
- Ability to read and follow a recipe
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for 100% of the workday
- Ability to navigate in and out of walk-in refrigerators and freezers
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
- Use of lifting equipment or assistance for loads over 35 pounds
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, deep fryers, stove tops, steam jacketed kettles, Cuisinarts, electric slicers, broilers, steamers, and large mixers
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- At least 2 years restaurant line cook experience
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and follow a recipe
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, deep fryers, and steam kettles
Job Duties
- Prepares the hot menu items correctly according to the standardized recipes
- Practices effective communication skills and maintains good customer relations
- Documents food temperatures prior to each service and dates food items to ensure freshness
- Maintains a safe sanitary work area meeting Hospital and Board of Health Regulations and Guidelines
- Participates in the department’s Performance Improvement Plan to improve key processes and key result areas
