Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years restaurant line cook experience
  • Good verbal skills
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for 100% of the workday
  • Ability to navigate in and out of walk-in refrigerators and freezers
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Use of lifting equipment or assistance for loads over 35 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, deep fryers, stove tops, steam jacketed kettles, Cuisinarts, electric slicers, broilers, steamers, and large mixers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • At least 2 years restaurant line cook experience
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, deep fryers, and steam kettles

Job Duties

  • Prepares the hot menu items correctly according to the standardized recipes
  • Practices effective communication skills and maintains good customer relations
  • Documents food temperatures prior to each service and dates food items to ensure freshness
  • Maintains a safe sanitary work area meeting Hospital and Board of Health Regulations and Guidelines
  • Participates in the department’s Performance Improvement Plan to improve key processes and key result areas
