Currently, The Ritz-Carlton Portland is seeking dedicated culinary professionals to join their team in a part-time, non-management role within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category. This position is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to develop their culinary skills within an inspiring, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. The role entails working alongside a committed team of experts where you will learn daily by engaging with seasonal menus and unique presentations designed to delight guests and invite return visits. Your efforts will directly impact guest satisfaction as you contribute to maintaining the superior culinary standards for which The Ritz-Carlton is known. Daily tasks include fresh ingredient preparation, timely cooking and plating of high-quality menu items, careful food tasting to ensure optimal taste and temperature, and maintaining cabinetry and kitchen equipment sanitation with strict adherence to hygiene policies.
More than skill alone, the Ritz-Carlton Portland values teamwork, positive attitude, attention to detail, and a warm, outgoing personality. Prior kitchen experience is considered an advantage but not mandatory, as the hotel provides training to support your professional culinary journey. This role requires the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, remain on your feet for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance with clean uniforms. Entry into the role also involves completing safety training and certification.
