Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people they serve by delivering high-quality services and solutions worldwide. With a strong commitment to values such as diversity, inclusion, and respect, Sodexo fosters a supportive work environment where employees are valued and can thrive. The company partners with various clients, including healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and corporate entities, to provide tailored food service and facility management solutions that enhance the experience for customers and employees alike. Sodexo’s mission emphasizes creating a better everyday life through its services, promoting economic, social, and environmental progress in the communities it serves.
The Cook II position at Sodexo, located at UC Health Broomfield Hospital, is a full-time role that offers an hourly pay range of $21.00 to $23.52. This role is crucial within the food service team, focused on preparing nutritious and well-presented meals across multiple meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. As a Cook II, you will work afternoon and evening shifts on varying days, with detailed schedules provided during the interview process.
In this role, you will be responsible for cooking and portioning hot and cold food items accurately and efficiently to meet the dietary and quality needs of patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities extend beyond cooking to include reading and following recipes or product directions precisely and potentially serving customers in an a la carte or grill station format. A key part of your contribution is to minimize food waste and ensure excellent customer service. Your role might also include supporting management with oversight of kitchen functions and team members during daily operations.
Sodexo seeks team players who are adaptable, reliable, and committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. Ideally, candidates will have 3 to 4 years of relevant cooking experience, though the company values individuals who show passion for food preparation and service excellence. The company culture values every employee’s input and strives to build a workplace where all individuals feel respected and empowered to be themselves.
Joining Sodexo as a Cook II means being part of an organization that invests in your growth through ongoing training and development opportunities. In addition to competitive pay, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports your wellbeing and that of your family. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, a 401(k) plan, and employee discount programs. Some work locations also offer site-specific benefits such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and support for transportation or parking costs.
Sodexo’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities ensures that all candidates receive fair consideration regardless of their background or protected status. This role not only offers a stable career opportunity in a respected global company but also the chance to make a meaningful difference through the vital service of food preparation and customer engagement.
