At its core, Sodexo values diversity, inclusion, and respect, fostering a work environment where every team member is given the opportunity to thrive as their authentic self. The company places a significant emphasis on fairness and equal opportunities, ensuring that all employees are respected regardless of their background or personal characteristics. Sodexo is well-known for its commitment to social responsibility, economic development, and environmental sustainability, making it more than just a workplace, but a purpose-driven organization.
The role of Cook II at Sodexo, specifically within the Bailey Medical Center, offers a full-time opportunity with a competitive pay range of $16.50 to $19.72 per hour. This position is designed for individuals who excel in fast-paced kitchen environments, are dedicated to quality food preparation, and thrive as collaborative team players. As a Cook II, you will be integral in preparing and serving nutritious and delicious meals across different shifts, which vary and include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You will be responsible for accurately following recipes, cooking and presenting hot and cold dishes, and potentially engaging directly with customers by serving à la carte items or operating a grill station. The role places a strong emphasis on food waste reduction, customer service excellence, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Additionally, you may participate in supporting management with daily operational oversight, which provides an opportunity to grow leadership skills.
This position suits candidates who are adaptable, reliable, and eager to contribute to a team that values collaboration and continuous improvement. With a preference for those who have three to four years of relevant cooking experience, the Cook II role nurtures a professional environment where employees are encouraged to learn, advance their careers, and enjoy a wide range of benefits. Sodexo offers a flexible and supportive workplace culture, ongoing training, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, and employee discount programs. Additionally, some locations offer extra perks such as free meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support.
Joining Sodexo as a Cook II means becoming part of a global organization dedicated to improving lives through service excellence, with a strong focus on sustainability, equality, and respect for every individual. You are invited to bring your passion for food, your teamwork skills, and your commitment to quality as you contribute to memorable dining experiences and a positive workplace culture.
