The Cook II position at Sodexo, based in UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital, offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, with pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.52 per hour. Working weekdays during morning shifts, cooks will be integrally involved in preparing a variety of meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events, ensuring that each dish not only meets but exceeds quality standards while contributing positively to the dining experience of patients and hospital staff.
In this position, a Cook II will be responsible for accurately preparing, portioning, and cooking both hot and cold food items. They will follow detailed recipes and food preparation guidelines, supporting efficient kitchen operations. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may also include managing grill stations or an a la carte service, serving customers with a friendly and professional demeanor. The role may involve supporting management with oversight duties, including supervising other employees and maintaining smooth business operations during shifts. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-4 years of related work experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
- Availability to work weekdays morning shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with cooking
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte stations and/or operate a grill station
- Support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
