Job Description
The iconic Hotel del Coronado is a historic and world-renowned beachfront resort located on Coronado Island near Downtown San Diego. Established in 1888, it remains one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts globally, combining timeless charm with modern luxury following a $400 million renovation and expansion. The expansive 28-acre property offers over 750 rooms, including cottages and villas, alongside 65,000 square feet of versatile banquet space. Its diverse culinary landscape features 10 distinct food and beverage outlets, such as four restaurants, two bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining options. This rich setting not only emphasizes exceptional hospitality but also provides a vibrant work environment for culinary professionals and hospitality staff alike.
The role of Cook I at Hotel del Coronado is an exciting opportunity to join its esteemed culinary team and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences that align with the resort's reputation for excellence. As a Cook I, you will prepare high-quality dishes using designated recipes and maintain stringent quality standards. Your role will involve managing guest orders efficiently, ensuring that each dish served delights guests both in taste and presentation. You will be expected to execute complex recipes and oversee stations with precision, including quality control and inventory management. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is critical to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations. Furthermore, you will participate in managing operational needs, including coordinating shifts, assisting with inventory checks, ordering, and shift briefings. Compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards is paramount to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and team members alike.

Hilton is committed to the wellbeing and development of its team members by providing incredible travel perks, an employee stock purchase program, paid parental leave, personalized caregiving support, mental health resources, generous paid time off, health and welfare benefits, and financial security plans for the future. The resort prides itself on being an award-winning workplace with a culture recognized by organizations such as Great Place to Work and Fortune.
