Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a hotel or restaurant environment
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment like stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers and kettles
  • basic math skills
  • ability to read, write and communicate in english
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen tools
  • ability to work under varying temperature conditions
  • physical ability to bend, stoop, walk and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • availability to work full shifts with walking and standing
  • willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a hotel/restaurant environment
  • good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
  • knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment following proper using manuals or chefs' instructions
  • basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurement, requisition amounts and portion sizes
  • ability to read, write and speak english language
  • sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
  • ability to work a full shift walking and standing
  • ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • prepares all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest
  • visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal for cooking, in preparation of all menu items
  • checks and controls the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
  • keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with health department regulations
  • prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
