Job Description
Hilton is a globally renowned hospitality company with a rich history dating back to 1919. Recognized as a leader in the lodging sector, Hilton offers a broad spectrum of accommodations ranging from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional guest experiences, Hilton has established itself as a beacon of excellence throughout the hospitality industry worldwide. Hilton's vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality unites its diverse team to create remarkable experiences that leave lasting impressions for business and leisure travelers alike. The company's core values emphasize hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and urgency, which guide all team members to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.
The role of Cook I at Hilton is essential in delivering those memorable hospitality experiences by preparing outstanding food items that satisfy guests and uphold Hilton's reputation for quality and consistency. As a Cook I, you will be responsible for preparing food according to standard recipes and guest specifications, ensuring that every dish meets Hilton's high culinary standards. This position relies on your ability to inspect and select only the best ingredients, monitor the proper storage and condition of food products to maintain freshness and safety, and adhere strictly to health department regulations. You will also be responsible for keeping kitchen workspaces clean and organized, demonstrating excellent attention to detail and sanitation practices. Additionally, the role involves using mathematical skills for following recipes accurately and managing supply requisitions effectively.
Hilton values individuals with a minimum of two years of cooking experience in a hotel or restaurant environment. Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, and kettles is crucial, alongside familiarity with accepted sanitation standards. Strong basic math skills, proficiency in English for communication and recipe reading, and manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools are required. The ability to work in confined spaces and under extreme temperature conditions, combined with a positive team spirit, is essential to succeed in this role. Physical stamina is important as the job requires standing and walking for eight-hour shifts, lifting and moving weights up to 50 pounds, bending, and stooping, all of which should be manageable with or without reasonable accommodation. The flexible schedule also includes working nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the operational needs of Hilton's hospitality services.
Working at Hilton means being part of a company that not only prioritizes guest satisfaction but also invests deeply in the well-being and development of its team members. Hilton offers an award-winning workplace culture consistently recognized as one of the best companies to work for in the U.S. The company supports mental and physical health through comprehensive benefits, including access to pay when needed, medical insurance, mental health resources, paid time off, travel discounts, parental leave, 401(k) matching, employee stock purchase programs, and educational opportunities. Hilton fosters an inclusive environment with career growth options, resource groups, and programs for recognition and rewards, ensuring that employees feel valued and motivated.
Joining Hilton means contributing to a legacy of hospitality excellence while enjoying a supportive, vibrant workplace where your skills will be nurtured, and your efforts recognized. This Cook I role is more than a cooking job; it's a chance to contribute to an exceptional guest experience, work alongside dedicated hospitality professionals, and build a rewarding career with a globally respected brand. The hourly rate for this position is $27.98, contingent on experience and location, reflecting Hilton's commitment to competitive compensation. Hilton values diversity and inclusivity, considering all qualified applicants fairly, including those with criminal histories, consistent with local hiring regulations. If you seek a fulfilling career where your passion for cooking and hospitality can shine, Hilton invites you to join its dynamic team and make every stay memorable.
