This part-time, non-management Food and Beverage & Culinary position at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis focuses on preparing and handling food in adherence to high standards of quality, presentation, and safety. The role includes tasks such as preparing special meals, managing inventory, regulating cooking equipment temperatures, and ensuring portion control. Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or replace products
  • regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and roasters
  • defrost food by removing it from the freezer to refrigerate
  • ensure appropriate portions, distribution, and garnishing of food
  • keep food records
  • monitor quality and quantity of prepared food
  • communicate assistance needs during busy periods
  • report excess food products to the chef for daily specials
  • inform Food and Beverage service staff of rejected products and available specials
  • ensure food product quality
  • prepare and cook food following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • prepare cold dishes
  • assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and mentoring employees
  • comply with safety and company policies
  • report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • participate in safety training and certifications
  • maintain clean and professional uniform and appearance
  • protect confidential information and company property
  • anticipate and meet guest service needs
  • communicate effectively using clear and professional language
