The Full-Time Cook role at La Quinta Resort & Club offers an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic culinary professionals passionate about cooking and eager to sharpen their skills. The position involves working closely with the culinary leadership team to assist in food production and preparation across various outlets including banquet cooking, fine dining, and cafeteria service. The Cook will be involved in developing expertise in cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, and frying, along with safe and efficient use of kitchen tools and equipment. Responsibilities include recipe recreation, consistent food preparation, minimizing waste through effective cross utilization, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Job Duties

  • assist chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining
  • maintain adequate production levels among kitchen staff with a passive leadership role
  • develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods including grill, sauté, and fry
  • use knives and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • recreate recipes accurately and consistently
  • minimize food waste through cross utilization
  • prepare ingredients including chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat
  • maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
  • ensure proper storage and quality of food and other items
  • create workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
