Committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction, UH operates a robust cafeteria, patient tray service, and specialized event catering. This department integrates professional practices and hospital regulations to ensure that every meal prepared and served aligns with the health needs and dietary requirements of patients as well as the preferences of the hospital community. As part of a dynamic healthcare institution, the Food and Nutrition Department continually adapts to evolving nutritional science, safety protocols, and patient care guidelines to promote wellness and recovery through excellent food service.

This full-time role focuses on preparing and serving a variety of food items that cater to different settings including the cafeteria, patient tray line, and special events hosted by the hospital. This is a rotating shift position with an employment capacity of 1.00 FTE, offering differential pay for weekday nights (17%), weekend nights (26%), and weekend day shifts (15%), reflecting the demanding and essential nature of work during these periods. The role requires proficiency in preparing high-quality foods, coordinating cooking schedules, maintaining food temperatures in compliance with guidelines, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the workspace. The position holds no direct patient care responsibilities but plays a crucial part in supporting the hospital’s mission by ensuring proper food service delivery and upholding food safety standards.Due to the nature of the hospital environment, candidates should be prepared for medium physical work involving exertion from 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and smaller forces frequently.
