As a member of the culinary team, you will perform essential duties such as washing produce, cutting ingredients, and preparing both hot and cold food items. These include short orders like hamburgers, chicken, eggs, and other grill items, alongside cold foods for delicatessen, salad bars, or compound salads. Ensuring food is prepared, served, and stored at proper temperatures and times is a critical part of your responsibility to maintain quality and safety standards. You will also be involved in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, grills, ovens, and hoods to comply with sanitation regulations. The role demands adherence to New York State, Monroe County, and university health codes relating to health, sanitation, and safety, making it essential to understand dietary restrictions, allergens, and food sensitivities.
