As a Culinary Associate at JW Marriott, you will be responsible for preparing special meals and substitute items by following precise recipes and food preparation checklists, ensuring that every dish served meets the brand's high standards for presentation, taste, and portion control. You will regulate the temperature of kitchen appliances such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to maintain optimal food quality. Additionally, managing food inventory involves pulling items from freezer storage to thaw appropriately and logging food preparation activities. Monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared is crucial to minimize waste and to communicate any excess food items to the Chef for incorporation into daily specials.

Communication plays a significant role in this job as you will assist the Food & Beverage service staff with information on menu specials and items that are out of stock, ensuring seamless service delivery. Besides food preparation, this position includes assisting management with various operational duties like hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, motivating, and coaching team members. While this is a non-supervisory role, it requires you to serve as a role model to your peers by maintaining professional standards, supporting a positive and productive work environment, and adhering to all company safety and security protocols.

Physically, the position demands standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, as well as performing movements such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. You will be expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance and protect company assets by safeguarding proprietary information. The job further entails reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to a manager promptly, and completing all required safety trainings and certifications.
