Job Description
Marriott International is a globally renowned hospitality company committed to providing exceptional experiences to guests and rewarding careers to its associates. Operating a vast portfolio of hotels and related lodging facilities worldwide, Marriott is recognized for its welcoming environment, commitment to diversity, inclusion, and nurturing talent from all cultural backgrounds. Within this expansive network, Renaissance Hotels stand out by offering guests unique opportunities to explore local culture and create memorable stories during their travels. The Renaissance brand focuses on delivering personalized, unexpected experiences that resonate with both business and leisure travelers alike.
The specific job opening is situated at Renaissance Hotels located at 2450 Galleria Pkwy SE, Atlanta, Georgia. This is a full-time, non-management position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, which involves a dynamic role as a culinary team member dedicated to preparing and maintaining high-quality food offerings in accordance with brand standards. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about the culinary arts and eager to contribute within a leading hospitality organization.
As a culinary team member, your responsibilities will include preparing special meals, managing proper thawing procedures by transferring food from freezers to refrigerators, and regulating cooking temperatures across ovens, grills, and broilers. You will ensure strict adherence to portion sizes, seasoning, and presentation according to detailed recipes and quality checklists. Maintaining accurate food logs and monitoring product quality and quantity are key to supporting kitchen operations efficiently. You will also communicate proactively with kitchen leadership regarding excess stock, which can be utilized in daily specials, and keep Food and Beverage staff informed of rejected products and available special dishes.
Additionally, you will assist management in a variety of operational duties including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, discipline, motivation, and ongoing employee development. Your leadership role, while not managerial, will be to set a positive example, uphold safety policies, report workplace incidents, and maintain cleanliness and professionalism both in personal appearance and work environment. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
A vital element of your position will also encompass guest service, anticipating and responding to service needs with a clear and professional communication style, fostering collaborative relationships with coworkers, and supporting team objectives. Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, bending, and ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role may require flexibility to perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.
The desired candidate will ideally have graduated from a technical, trade, or vocational school and possess at least three years of relevant food preparation experience. No supervisory experience is required, nor are certifications or licenses mandatory, making this an accessible role for skilled culinary professionals aiming to grow their career in a respected hotel brand.
Marriott International emphasizes its dedication to equal opportunity employment, ensuring an inclusive culture where diversity is celebrated and protected under applicable laws. The company invites explorers and culinary enthusiasts to join a global team, where they can thrive personally and professionally, delivering the spirit of local neighborhoods to guests worldwide. Joining Renaissance Hotels means becoming part of a global family committed to excellence and innovation in hospitality.
