Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to enhancing the day-to-day experiences of people across various communities. As a company, Sodexo partners with client organizations to deliver exceptional food services, catering, facilities management, and integrated solutions worldwide. Established with a clear purpose to improve quality of life and foster sustainable progress economically, socially, and environmentally, Sodexo remains committed to creating positive impacts with every action. The organization values its employees for their individuality and encourages an inclusive, respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong. Sodexo promotes equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, military status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This commitment to diversity and inclusion is foundational to the company’s culture and success.
The University of Northern Colorado, partnering with Sodexo, is currently seeking a full-time Cook I to join their food services team. This role offers hourly wages ranging from $18.25 to $20.25, with varying shifts and flexible days and hours, though open availability is preferred. Students with time constraints, including international students, are encouraged to seek student worker opportunities instead.
As a Cook I at Sodexo, the position is highly team-oriented and focuses on reducing food waste while preparing and presenting baked goods and various food items. Serving customers with warmth and passion for food is central to the role, playing a vital part in creating positive dining experiences for consumers. The responsibilities encompass preparing multiples types of foods for different meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catering events, following recipes and product instructions accurately, and possibly operating grill stations or handling a la carte orders. Punctuality and consistency in attending scheduled shifts are essential, along with the flexibility to undertake additional duties as business needs require.
Sodexo values team members who are adaptable, dependable, and promote a healthy and safe work environment. While previous experience is valued, candidates with zero to two years of relevant experience are welcome, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for those passionate about a culinary career. The company offers a supportive work atmosphere with continuous training and career development prospects, encouraging employees to transform their job into a meaningful career.
Employees benefit from a comprehensive range of wellness supports including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plans, employee discount programs, and more. Some locations may extend additional benefits such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and assistance with transportation costs or parking. Sodexo strives to maintain detailed and transparent job descriptions and benefit summaries, encouraging open dialogue during the hiring process to clarify any questions.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a global team committed to making life better every day through dedicated service and respect for individual contributions. The Cook I role represents an opportunity to contribute directly to this mission while gaining valuable culinary skills and job experience in a professional environment that values your input and fosters personal and professional growth.
