The role of Cook I at GCE involves accurately and efficiently preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of food items across different meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. This position requires culinary proficiency that adapts to the varying needs of different accounts and clients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met. Responsibilities may vary based on business demands and specific client requirements, demanding flexibility and a strong customer service orientation from the candidate. This position is ideal for individuals who possess knowledge of kitchen operations, can follow oral and written instructions diligently, and are adept at reading and quantifying recipes and menus. The cook may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and must be prepared to work varying shifts, including early mornings, mid-mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The job demands physical endurance as it requires frequent bending, crouching, stair climbing, reaching overhead, sitting (especially when driving), and lifting weights up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds. GCE is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure that individuals with disabilities can perform essential job functions successfully.
