Currently, Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking a well-rounded and experienced Cook I to join their culinary team. This role is essential in delivering distinctively different and authentic culinary experiences that align with the resort’s commitment to excellence. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, the Cook I will be responsible for supporting operations within the high-volume kitchen environment. This position demands a passion for the culinary arts coupled with a service-oriented mindset, as it involves preparation and execution of menu items while adhering strictly to health and service standards.
The successful candidate will undertake several critical responsibilities, including maintaining knowledge of departmental policies, ensuring proper use of kitchen equipment, and anticipating guest needs to provide prompt and courteous service. Cleanliness, organization, and compliance with state sanitation guidelines are mandatory practices. Daily tasks involve setting up stations with the necessary mise en place, inspecting equipment, managing food preparations, and coordinating with the Food and Beverage service staff on menu availability.
Additional duties encompass inventory assistance, banquet support, adherence to cleaning schedules, and active participation in meetings while embodying the company’s image and vision statement. The Cook I is expected to contribute to continuous improvements within the kitchen operations and support the professional development of team members. This role not only plays a vital part in day-to-day kitchen functions but also helps shape future company initiatives by taking part in ongoing training and development efforts.

Job Requirements
- 1-2 years experience in a high-level banquet or restaurant kitchen
- must be 18 years of age or older
- prior hospitality experience preferred
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
- must be able to stand and walk throughout the day
- must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently

- maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
