Job Description

SodexoMagic is a dynamic joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson and SodexoMagic, Inc., creating a certified minority company committed to delivering exceptional food, facilities management, and integrated services across multiple sectors. These sectors include corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, as well as aviation lounges. Through this strategic alliance, SodexoMagic not only offers innovative and creative solutions to its clients but also builds strong local partnerships that serve the communities deeply. The company embraces a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring every employee is respected and treated fairly. SodexoMagic fosters an environment where employees feel empowered to be their authentic selves, share their ideas, and contribute to a stronger team dynamic.

Located at the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, SodexoMagic is hiring for a Cook I position. This full-time role offers a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour, with morning shifts on varying days to be discussed during the interview process. As a Cook I at SodexoMagic, you become a vital member of a team focused not just on cooking but reducing food waste, ensuring nutritious meals, and delivering excellent customer service. Your work will directly impact customers' experiences through freshly prepared and thoughtfully presented dishes across various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events.

The role involves following recipes and preparation instructions carefully, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and may include serving customers at an a la carte station or grilling area. Dependability and punctuality are essential, as is the willingness to perform other duties tailored to specific account needs and client requirements. The company supports team-oriented individuals who are adaptable and motivated to create a healthy and safe work environment. Prior food service experience ranging from zero to two years is considered beneficial but not mandatory, making this position ideal for newcomers eager to develop their culinary skills in a supportive setting.

SodexoMagic offers more than just a job. It provides a flexible and supportive work environment that helps employees stay connected to life’s important moments outside of work. Extensive ongoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities are available, allowing employees to turn their jobs into meaningful careers. The comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plans, employee discount programs, and more. Some locations also offer additional benefits such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, and parking accommodations.

At its core, SodexoMagic is dedicated to building a workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. The company believes that its strength comes from its people, and as such, equal employment opportunities are provided regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, military status, or any other legally protected characteristic. SodexoMagic encourages candidates to discuss benefits and job details during the interview to ensure alignment and transparency.
