The role of Line Cook at Villa Gardens Luxury Retirement Community is a crucial position within the dining services team, operating primarily on the PM shift. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals and specialty items for both residents and employees. This position requires a steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction, food quality, kitchen cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety codes. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of cooking methods and equipment, including broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and sauté burners. They must be skilled at portion control, recipe compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene in food preparation areas.

Furthermore, the Line Cook will play a vital role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations by stocking line stations adequately, collaborating with team members during busy periods, and assisting with food prep during less busy times. Familiarity with all food safety regulations and ability to practice proper food storage and rotation is required. The position offers a pay range of $21.67 to $24.00 per hour and emphasizes safety, efficiency, and professionalism in the kitchen environment. Job Duties

  • Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
