This role is critical in ensuring that all food items are prepared and cooked efficiently, accurately following recipes and timely order fulfilment to meet high standards. The Cook I works closely with other kitchen staff, wait staff, and management to maintain smooth operational flow while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines. The position demands physical stamina, skill in various cooking techniques including saute, broiler, and line stations, and proficiency in fresh produce preparation using professional cutting methods. Job Requirements
- Three years of cooking experience required
- Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in extreme temperatures and under pressure
- Proficiency in saute, line, and broiler stations
- Ability to read orders from a POS system
- Ability to cut, dice, julienne, and prepare fresh produce with proper techniques
- Familiarity with seafood stocks, grilling, sauteing, deep frying, and cold food prep
- Ability to obtain necessary sanitation, liquor service, or food service certifications
- Knowledge of proper cooking procedures, knife handling, and use of kitchen tools
- Ability to read orders for the point of sales system and understand English

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food quickly and correctly following all required recipes and complete in a timely fashion
- Correctly store food, use proper rotation and dating and labeling
- Determine inventory of food items and requisition from storeroom
- Set up equipment needed for preparation prior to service
- Maintain high quality level of food production and presentation as well as ensure that plates consistently appear crisp and clean
- Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation of cooking area along with personal hygiene
- Maintain communication between the other cooks, wait staff and management
- Other duties as assigned
