The Cook I position at Sodexo offers a full-time role with competitive pay ranging between $16.00 and $23.50 per hour, primarily scheduled for morning shifts on varying days. This role involves working within a fast-paced kitchen environment where the Cook I is responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a wide variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods and events. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift frequently up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Punctual and reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Walk or stand for extended periods during shift
- Reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Perform repetitive motions
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Collaborate with kitchen team to support effective kitchen operations
