Once a high-society ballroom and later a convent, the Bourbon Orleans Hotel stands as a testament to timeless elegance with its Belle Epoque-style architecture, polished marble interiors, and warm Louisiana hospitality. Nestled just steps away from the vibrant Bourbon Street, the hotel provides a quiet sanctuary for guests ready to immerse themselves in the Crescent City’s charm.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team, a role pivotal in delivering high-quality food and dining experiences across multiple outlets including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. This position is designed for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a creative culinary flair, and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in kitchen management. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and supervising food items, ensuring adherence to stringent quality, portioning, and presentation standards while maintaining an efficient and organized kitchen environment.
This role demands a proactive individual who can anticipate operational challenges, communicate effectively with kitchen staff and guests, and uphold sanitation and safety regulations at all times. Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
- Food Handlers Certification required, must comply with State requirements
- Able to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
- Strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests and effectively conveys ideas and solutions
