The role of Cook I at Sodexo is a vital position within the company’s food service operations. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand or walk for extended periods and to lift or move moderate weights regularly. Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory and supplies management
- Attend work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
