The company is committed to creating a better everyday for its clients, employees, and communities by offering services that promote well-being, efficiency, and sustainability. Sodexo values diversity and inclusion, ensuring an equitable workplace where individuals are respected and have opportunities to grow professionally.

The Cook I position at Sodexo, based in Charlotte at the USAA location, offers a full-time opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and committed to high standards of food preparation and safety. With a competitive pay range of $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, this role is ideal for those who enjoy working in a dynamic kitchen environment and want to develop their cooking skills further. The work schedule primarily involves weekday morning shifts, providing a structured routine for employees.

As a Cook I, you will be responsible for accurately preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items in line with Sodexo's culinary standards. Your role involves following recipes and food handling procedures to ensure quality, presentation, and consistency across all meal periods and special events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen with an emphasis on food safety and sanitation, prioritizing a clean and organized workstation. This position supports Sodexo’s commitment to exceptional dining experiences by maintaining food quality and contributing to effective teamwork in the kitchen.

In addition to food preparation, the Cook I will manage production requirements by tasting products, checking menus, estimating food quantities, and keeping accurate records for supply requisitions. Physical stamina is important as the role involves significant walking, standing for extended periods, performing repetitive motions, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds occasionally. Reliability is valued, with an expectation for regular attendance and punctuality.

The responsibilities may vary based on client needs and organizational requirements, and additional duties may be assigned, reflecting the dynamic nature of the business. Sodexo provides ongoing training and development opportunities to help employees grow their careers within the company. Benefits include paid time off, medical and dental coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, employee discounts, and more to support your well-being and professional growth.

By joining Sodexo, you become part of a company that values you as an individual, encourages your ideas, and fosters a culture of respect and belonging. Sodexo's mission extends beyond providing services; it aims to create meaningful impacts on people’s lives and contribute to social and environmental progress. If you are looking to start or advance a career in culinary services within a supportive and flexible work environment, the Cook I role at Sodexo presents an excellent opportunity.
