Job Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- must successfully pass background check
- must successfully pass drug screening
- must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per federal, state, and gaming regulations
- basic food preparation knowledge
- previous line work experience
- ability to use kitchen equipment
- ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests
- flexibility to work varying shifts and time schedules
- ability to report safety hazards and equipment issues
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary apprenticeship or associate's degree preferred
- some industry experience preferred
- knowledge of basic food preparation
- ability to use kitchen equipment such as choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders
- effective communication skills
- flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules
- ability to mentor team members
- knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
Job Duties
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain for gaming entertainment
- prepares foods to be grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached, or prepared in the pantry
- ensures all plates are aesthetically appealing and cooked to specification
- recognizes and applies sauces appropriately to entrees
- keeps work station neat and clean
- assists coworkers for efficient kitchen operation
- performs duties for special events or parties
- ensures cleanliness and safety of working area
- properly stores foods including leftovers
- stocks items and maintains equipment in working condition
- closes down work stations properly
- attends and participates in meetings
- performs work regularly and predictably
- assists with other duties at special events or parties
- other duties as assigned
