Founded with a commitment to placing the patient first, Mayo Clinic has expanded its influence globally, operating multiple campuses not only in its home state of Minnesota but also in Arizona, Florida, and across the Mayo Clinic Health System in Midwestern communities. Beyond healthcare, Mayo Clinic invests heavily in its employees through competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing opportunities for professional development, ensuring a supportive environment where employees can build long, successful careers.
The Historic Properties culinary team at Mayo Clinic offers an exceptional and unique opportunity within the culinary world. This role presents a rare work environment that focuses on maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere uncommon in most culinary settings, with a dedication to workplace support and employee well-being. Unlike traditional culinary roles, this position features a schedule with limited weekend shifts and early weekday dinner service hours, promoting a healthy work-life balance for team members. The team values professionalism, camaraderie, and a focus on delivering a high level of customer service in a fine dining setting.
As a Historic Properties Cook, you will play an integral role in preparing and plating food for special events hosted at the Historic Properties. Your work will emphasize quality and presentation while contributing to menu creation and development, with a focus on health and wellness. This role requires coordination with the culinary team to execute multi-course menus in accordance with event schedules, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and workspaces, and assisting with cleanup and dishwashing duties as needed. This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.55 to $30.22 and is eligible for Mayo Clinic's comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and more. The schedule generally consists of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday with variable day and evening hours, reflecting the organization’s commitment to a balanced, employee-centric work environment.
Working at Mayo Clinic means joining a world-class healthcare institution that extends its excellence to all facets of operation including culinary services. Employees are provided with the tools and support necessary to excel in their roles while enjoying competitive benefits that secure their current and future well-being. The Mayo Clinic Historic Properties culinary team exemplifies this ethos, offering a unique workplace with a serene environment, supportive leadership, ample growth opportunities, and the chance to be part of a globally recognized organization dedicated to service excellence and employee satisfaction.
