Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid state driver’s license
- one year of cooking experience preferred
- one year of restaurant experience preferred
- ability to obtain Food Service Sanitation or Safe Serve certification if not currently certified
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- NRA Food Service Sanitation or equivalent/Safe Serve certification preferred and required if not already obtained
- valid state driver’s license
Job Duties
- Assists in the preparation and service of meals
- responsible for kitchen and dining area sanitation
- interacts positively with students aged 16-24 and acts as a role model and mentor
- provides a high level of customer service to students and staff
- cooks all meals from scratch
- ensures meals and food items meet dietary needs including ethnic, vegetarian and low-fat alternatives
- assists in developing and implementing procedures for ordering, purchasing, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing food products to prevent fraud and ensure safety
