Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests daily across 15 countries. The company is rooted in a strong commitment to service, and it strives to make a positive impact on its employees, partners, communities, and the environment. Known for fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, Aramark emphasizes equal employment opportunity and actively discourages discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, and other legally protected statuses. As a large multinational corporation, Aramark offers opportunities for career growth and encourages employees to develop their skills and talents while promoting a sense of belonging at the workplace.

Within this dynamic environment, Aramark is seeking a Food Prep Worker to join their team. This role is vital in preparing and portioning food items according to production requirements and strict sanitation standards set by the company. The position involves working in an events-based setting, meaning schedules and hours can vary and typically revolve around 3 or 4 events per year. Candidates will provide their availability, which is then taken into account for scheduling purposes. This Food Prep Worker role is unionized under Unite Here Local 11, with a structured wage progression system. New hires start at 80% of the negotiated pay rate, increase to 90% after 20 shifts, and reach 100% after 40 shifts. The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.80.

Responsibilities include preparing food according to standard recipes and daily prep lists, following proper food handling procedures, and ensuring quality through accurate rotation and management of leftover food. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in refrigerators, work areas, and kitchen equipment in line with Aramark's food safety standards and regulations. The Food Prep Worker ensures a safe work environment by following safety policies and reporting any accidents, along with completing all required training.

This position demands physical capability for activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing. The use of personal protective equipment and uniforms may also be required. Candidates typically have at least one year of experience in food prep or related food service work, possess basic math and counting skills, and are able to read and write sufficiently to communicate effectively. Knowledge of food prep techniques, proper knife handling, temperature controls, and sanitation best practices are advantageous.

Joining Aramark means becoming part of a diverse workforce dedicated to high standards of service and community care. Employees benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plans, paid time off including parental leave, and access to work-life resources. Aramark supports its workforce with ongoing training opportunities and a collaborative company culture designed to empower each employee’s professional growth and wellbeing.
