The resort is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cook to join their Food and Beverage team on a part-time basis. This is a non-management position ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to contribute to the creation of high-quality dishes that meet established standards of taste, presentation, and safety. The Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients including chopping, portioning, and storing various food items, as well as cooking and assembling dishes in accordance with specified recipes and quality guidelines. Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers will be a daily task, alongside maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen environment in line with safety protocols.

This role requires an individual who can work effectively as part of a team, communicate professionally with colleagues, and uphold the resort’s brand reputation through consistent food quality and adherence to operational standards. Additionally, the Cook must be capable of performing physical activities such as standing or walking for extended periods and handling food-related equipment safely. The pay range for this position is competitive, between $26.94 and $33.68 per hour, reflecting the skills and dedication expected from team members at The Royal Hawaiian. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G E D equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to stand sit or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Willingness to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work part-time

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances and equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Weigh measure and mix ingredients
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards presentation standards and food preparation checklist
  • Operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
  • Monitor food quality while preparing food
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area tables tools knives and equipment
