Job Description

Monarch Landing is a renowned Life Plan Community located in Naperville, Illinois. The role available is a full-time cook position within Monarch Landing’s Culinary Team. This opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $20 and operates under a schedule that values work-life balance, with hours from 5 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Friday, Wednesdays off, and rotating weekends, ensuring no late hours. This position is ideal for cooks with experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living settings. The successful candidate will have a crucial role in contributing to customer satisfaction by preparing and cooking food items, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces. The cook will collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food is served simultaneously and in a timely fashion. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in cooking preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment
  • ability to work early morning shifts and rotating weekends
  • successful completion of background screening
  • ability to follow safety and hygiene regulations
  • good physical stamina for kitchen work
  • reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • experience cooking in healthcare skilled nursing or senior living settings preferred
  • knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients equipment and procedures
  • ability to work effectively in a team
  • good time management skills
  • basic food safety knowledge
  • excellent communication skills
  • high school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • prepare food for service including chopping vegetables and butchering meat
  • prepare sauces and cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff

  • assist in inventory management and stock supplies
