Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate culinary professional to join our dynamic Culinary team at Hyatt House Los Angeles – University Medical Center. This role is ideal for individuals who are creative, motivated, and eager to expand their culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a culinary setting and a keen desire to collaborate with leadership to develop menus that emphasize seasonal ingredients and the restaurant's culinary concept. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, and frying, along with the use of professional kitchen knives and equipment. Responsibilities include preparing and fabricating food products for kitchen, cafeteria, banquet, and dining services, ensuring consistency in food preparation, minimizing waste through cross-utilization techniques, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. This role not only demands high quality and care in food handling but also offers the chance to be part of a world-class culinary team committed to excellence and innovation.
This part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.00 and requires availability for flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. Ideal candidates for this role will have 2-3 years of professional culinary experience, hold or be able to obtain an active food handler’s certification, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Additionally, candidates must be at least 21 years old and bring an energetic and enthusiastic attitude to exceed guest and team expectations.
