This role involves preparing a variety of foods based on standardized recipes and production guidelines, setting up workstations with the necessary ingredients and equipment, and using different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. As a Cook, you will be responsible for the safe handling and storage of food, ensuring sanitation and cleanliness of your work area, and maintaining positive interactions with coworkers and guests. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
