The seasonal Cook role at Delaware North’s Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about food preparation and guest service. This full-time seasonal position involves preparing food items that comply with strict portion sizes and quality standards, maintaining proper food temperatures and storage, and ensuring the freshness and quality of all menu items. The role demands a high level of cleanliness and organization in workstations, coolers, and equipment, adhering to sanitation standards and company policies. Additionally, the Cook will be responsible for waste management, including recording spoilage and following waste control guidelines. The position requires performing opening, closing, and side work duties along with conducting end-of-day inventory tasks. Employees in this role will work in a fast-paced environment, providing food service during games, events, and special occasions, contributing directly to a memorable guest experience. The pay range for this position is between $15.00 and $17.50 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including weekly pay, training and development programs, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. The Cook needs to have at least one year of prior experience in a back-of-the-house food preparation role and possess basic math skills to follow recipe measurements accurately. Physical demands include the ability to lift 50 pounds or more, stand and walk throughout the shift, reach, bend, and operate kitchen equipment. Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food service position
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
  • Standing and walking for the entire length of shift in moderate to high noise levels
  • Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items, and packages all products to proper specifications
  • Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory
