Job Description
Delaware North Sportservice is a renowned hospitality and food service company that operates within iconic venues, including sports arenas like the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. Established with a legacy spanning over 100 years, Delaware North proudly serves guests by providing exceptional concession, premium dining, and retail experiences. The company has been a valued partner of the Cincinnati Reds since 1936, showcasing a rich tradition of dedication to quality food service and guest satisfaction. Delaware North is globally recognized for its commitment to innovation, teamwork, and culinary excellence while focusing on personal and professional growth for every team member. This opportunity is for a seasonal Cook position at Great American Ball Park, where the selected candidate will contribute to vital food preparation and collaborate with the serving team to deliver efficient and enjoyable dining experiences for guests. Delaware North offers competitive pay ranging from $15.00 to $17.50 per hour, along with an extensive benefits package designed to protect and support team members in both their personal and professional lives. The Cook role involves preparing food according to specified portion sizes, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to department rules and procedures. Ensuring proper food temperatures, storing food correctly, monitoring freshness and quality of menu items, and packaging products appropriately are central to this role. The position also requires maintaining clean and organized workstations, coolers, and kitchen equipment, practicing proper sanitation, and managing waste by following specific guidelines and recording spoilage. Seasonal Cooks at Delaware North are expected to perform opening, closing, side work duties, and participate in end-of-day inventory management to help maintain operational efficiency during events and game days. This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, reach up to seven feet, bend, squat, stand, and walk through entire shifts in environments with moderate to high noise levels. Strong manual skills for food preparation techniques such as chopping, mixing, blending, and whipping are also essential. The Cook position includes shift work covering days, evenings, holidays, weekdays, weekends, and special events to meet the demands of the ballpark's dynamic schedule. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with at least one year of experience in a back-of-house food service role who can read and understand preparation sheets and recipes and possess basic math skills to measure and follow recipe requirements. No high school diploma or GED is required, making this position accessible to a wide range of applicants seeking to join a respected company that values diversity, equal opportunity, and career advancement. Delaware North is committed to creating a supportive work environment where employees can thrive. With on-going training and development, flexible schedules, weekly pay, and employee discounts, this position offers a comprehensive employment experience. Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a global legacy — a family-owned company influencing hospitality at iconic sports venues and beyond. If you are passionate about culinary arts and hospitality, enjoy working as part of a dynamic team, and want to grow your career in a vibrant environment, this Cook role at Great American Ball Park offers an exceptional opportunity to do just that.
