The Cook position at Aramark offers a dynamic and engaging role for individuals passionate about food preparation and culinary creativity. The role requires adherence to strict production guidelines and safety procedures to ensure food quality and employee well-being. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling; using various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming; and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. A vital part of the job is providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive demeanor towards guests and coworkers. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in cooking or food preparation
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math skills
- good communication skills
- physical ability to meet role demands including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- legal authorization to work in the country
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- able to work in adherence to safety guidelines
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc
- bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
- adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensure security of company assets
