The community embraces the philosophy that working here is not just a job but an extraordinary life experience, where every team member has the chance to contribute positively to the lives of others and be part of something bigger than themselves.
The role of Cook at Maplewood Senior Living is essential to maintaining the high standards of the dining department. This is a full-time position based in Brewster, MA, offering a competitive salary range of $22 to $23 per hour. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals for the community’s residents while ensuring all dietary standards, policies, and procedures are strictly followed. The position involves working closely with the Culinary Services Director and other team members to create enjoyable and nutritious meals that meet the specific dietary requirements of a senior population. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of food preparation, safety regulations, and the ability to handle large volumes of food with a superior quality output.
In this role, you will assist or independently prepare food items, serve residents within scheduled mealtimes, and maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas. You will also support inventory management and step in to supervise servers in the absence of the Culinary Services Director. This requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Additionally, being able to communicate effectively and maintain a professional demeanor under stressful conditions is key, especially when ensuring that all residents’ dietary needs and rights are respected.
Maplewood values employees who show initiative and can recognize needs without prompting while building positive relationships with both staff and residents. The Cook position allows for growth opportunities within a supportive work environment that offers flexible shifts, bonus and incentive programs, and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K match, company-paid time off, life insurance, and voluntary Aflac insurance. If you are passionate about food service and dedicated to enhancing the daily lives of seniors, Maplewood Senior Living invites you to apply and become a valued member of their team.
