Vivie is currently hiring for a full-time Cook position with mixed shifts, including every other weekend and holiday work. The pay range for this role is $19 to $25 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and location. As a Cook at Vivie, you will have the opportunity to prepare and serve nutritious and tasty meals intended to meet high standards for residents' enjoyment and health. The role demands attention to detail, culinary skill, and a commitment to food safety and dietary accommodation to help create a welcoming and positive mealtime atmosphere for residents.
The Cook will be responsible for ensuring that all meals comply with nutritional guidelines and individual dietary needs, including allergen-free and modified meals when necessary. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space that meets food safety standards and managing inventory to ensure the availability of food and supplies. Beyond cooking and preparation, this role involves excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within the culinary team and communicate with residents and other staff.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities and reports directly to the Manager of Culinary Services within the Culinary Division. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurants preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices preferred
- Ability to work varying shifts including every other weekend and holiday
- Physical capability to perform all essential job functions
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
- Ability to pass state mandated background check
Job Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurants preferred
- Food safety knowledge preferred
- ServSafe certification a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to pass state mandated background check
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve meals ensuring quality, taste, and nutrition meet high standards for residents
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain clean, organized kitchen spaces
- Accommodate dietary needs, including allergen-free and modified meals if needed
- Manage inventory tracking of food and supplies to ensure availability
