Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous food preparation experience required
  • knowledge and experience with elderly and dementia patients preferred
  • food service sanitation certificate according to state or local requirements
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English clearly

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge and experience working with elderly residents preferred
  • previous experience with dementia patients is an asset
  • food service sanitation certification as per state or local requirements

Job Duties

  • prepare appetizing and nutritious meals for residents
  • assist Culinary Services Coordinator in managing food service functions
  • maintain a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment
  • ensure food service sanitation standards are met according to state and local requirements
  • provide tactful and professional service to residents
  • support dietary needs specific to elderly and dementia patients
  • adhere to health and safety regulations in all food preparation activities
